Military Programs

Southcentral Therapeutic Riding, Inc (STRIDE) is proud to offer EAGALA services.  EAGALA model equine-assisted psychotherapy has been proven to help the military, veterans, and their families. The services can assist a family with reunification, as well as support those who struggle with PTSD, or other intense emotions.

“Results from a pilot program conducted by Refugee Services, an EAGALA Military Services Program in Texas, found that service members and their spouses reported major and measurable improvements in their marriages.

There were dramatically fewer incidents of abuse and arguments. They reported more forgiveness, loving connection, and time together. All after only six sessions.” Taken from the EAGALA materials explaining the modality and its benefits for the military population.

Treating trauma is challenging, especially in military culture. Service members and their families face PTSD, depression, divorce, addiction, and suicide. The EAGALA Model provides effective healing through equine-assisted psychotherapy, which suits the military’s hands-on approach.

This method helps clients understand patterns, build strengths, and turn emotional insights into action. Horses facilitate emotional breakthroughs and resilience by acting as metaphors for challenges. Certified EAGALA facilitators help service members, veterans, and their families integrate new behaviors and perspectives.

EAGALA, the largest and most respected association for equine-assisted psychotherapy, maintains high standards and a replicable Military Services model, distinguishing it from other programs.

EAGALA Military Services Providers are uniquely qualified to assist military personnel and their families globally. EAGALA is the only equine-assisted psychotherapy association to offer a special Military Services Designation, going above and beyond to serve.
